The Journal of the Anthropological Society of South Australia primarily publishes articles relating to Indigenous Australian anthropology, archaeology, history, and linguistics, though broader topics within these disciplines are also considered. Regular issues are often structured around specific themes, while non-themed issues may also be published. In addition, special editions may be produced at the discretion of guest editors.
Scholars interested in serving as guest editors for a special issue are invited to submit a proposal to the Contact Editor, Tom Habgood, at:📧 editor@anthropologysocietysa.com
Special Issue Proposal Guidelines
Proposals for special issues should include the following information:
Clearly outline the focus of the special issue.
Provide a short description (300–500 words) explaining the relevance, significance, and timeliness of the proposed theme.
List the names, affiliations, and contact details of proposed guest editors, along with a brief description of their expertise in relation to the theme.
Suggest a list of potential contributors or types of manuscripts expected (e.g., research articles, reviews, case studies).
Indicate the proposed schedule for the call for papers, peer review, revisions, and final publication.
Note whether the issue will include editorials, commentaries, or other special formats.
Proposals will be reviewed by the journal’s editorial team to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope and standards. Guest editors will work closely with the editorial office to oversee the review process and ensure quality publication.
