The instructions listed below are based on those also used in the journal <em>Australian Archaeology<\/em>.<\/p><p>Contributions accepted include: articles (5000-8000 words), short reports (1000-3000 words), obituaries (500-2000 words), thesis abstracts (200-500 words) and book reviews (500-2000 words).<\/p><p>Should you wish to submit a paper to the journal please direct your enquiries to the Secretary of the Anthropological Society of South Australia (details are listed on \u2018contact details\u2019 web page of the Society\u2019s website.<\/p><p>All submissions must conform to the formats requested below. All contributions must be typed, use 12 point Times New Roman font or similar. Submissions must avoid using footnotes as much as possible. Do not double space at the end of sentences. A 150-200 word abstract must be included for articles and short reports.<\/p><p><strong>Citations and References<\/strong><\/p><p>References should be cited in text by author\u2019s surname, publication year and page (e.g. Smith 1988:45). For three or more authors \u2018<em>et al<\/em><em>.<\/em>\u2019 should be used after the first surname (e.g. David <em>et al<\/em><em>.<\/em> 1994). If multiple references are cited they should be ordered alphabetically and then by publication year, with authors\u2019 names separated by a semicolon (e.g. Appleby 1990:19-25; Childe 1952; David 1988; David and Chant 1995; David <em>et al<\/em><em>. <\/em>1994, 1999; White and O\u2019Connell 1982:42, 50).<\/p><p>Type the references starting on a new page. Include all and only those references cited in the paper. Papers may be cited as \u2018in press\u2019 where they have been accepted for publication. For general publication categories the format should follow the examples below.
